  • Everyone must wear a mask to enter the building This is required for us to be open and we will enforce it. (if you forgot your mask we will have some available).
  • We are operating on an appointment only system. This means that you must make an appointment to come into the building. (no walk ins allowed at this time) You can book online, email or call during business hours.
  • If you or anyone in your group are experiencing any symptoms don’t enter the building. Call us at 661-381-1301 to reschedule. We will be happy to reschedule your experience.
  • Please keep a distance of 6 ft from our staff at all times, our staff will do the same for you.
  • Every experience is private. Only you and your household will be in the room.
  • When you show up, if a group is in the lobby please wait outside and remain at least 6 ft apart.
  • Please fill out our waiver for your entire group before you arrive (we will also have a QR code available in our lobby for you to use on your personal device)
  • We will have hand sanitizer in each room and the lobby. Please use it before you enter and during your game experience. We will have gloves and masks available upon request.
  • We will have start times of each experience further apart to limit the interaction of guests in our lobby.
  • We will have more time between each booking to thoroughly sanitize each room.
  • We will be sanitizing commonly touched areas including but not limited to door knobs/handles, clipboards, pens, chairs, counter tops keys, locks and props both inside and outside the rooms.

What is an Escape or Adventure Room?

Real Escape Bakersfield is a physical adventure game in which you and others are locked in a themed immersive room where you have to use elements of the room to solve a series of puzzles, find clues, and escape the room before time runs out.


do i need to fill out a waiver each time i come?

Yes. We ask that you fill out a waiver for each experience. We also ask that each member in your group fill out the waiver. If you have a minor in your group please have a parent or guardian fill one out for them. When filling out for minors you can add each one to your original waiver. There will be a link in your conformation email or you can scan the QR code in house. You can also click here and fill it out.


How do I know how easy or hard your rooms are?

We start with level 1 and they get harder with each lock.

What is PRP and FRP?

PRP – Pass rate percentage

FRP – Fail rate percentage

PRP and FRP are used to determine the percentage of people who pass and fail each room.

What is Paint & Escape?

Do the escape room like normal (all room details are listed under each room theme). After you are finished with the room (even if you fail) then you head to another room to paint a beautiful painting themed to the room. West Coasters Art Studio will walk you through the painting step by step.. If you have never done this or you feel you are not artistic, no worries. All our paintings are designed at a beginner level. As always feel free to make the paintings your own. You don’t need to bring anything but yourself to enjoy this. You are welcome to bring snacks and drinks (non alcoholic) to enjoy during the painting process. Real Escape will also have snacks and drinks for sale. Tickets prices for this event are listed in the room details. Keep an eye our for our upcoming bookings. You can also book a private event for this, please contact a member of our staff for details.

How do I book Paint & Escape?

When we have a scheduled booking you will so the experience listed with the other bookings. If you would like to schedule a private booking please call, email, Facebook us or speak with a member of our staff inside. We ask that you please contact us at lease 1 week prior to your desired booking so we can arrange to have our artist here.

Are you locally owned? Are you from Bakersfield?

YES! We are proud to say we are from Bakersfield and we are locally owned and operated. We are a family owned business.

How long will it take and how much does it cost?

Please allow at least 15 minutes before and 15 minutes after your experience. (if you book a 60 minute room, allow 90 minutes total) – This allows time for check in, going over rules and photos. Please arrive early so we have time to check you in and go over rules. If you are later than 10 minutes to your appointment you will need to reschedule.

Entry fee per person:

How many people do I need to play?

Each theme may vary depending on the size of the room and design. The number of available bookings are under each room description as well as at the top of the booking page. Here is a basic breakdown:

Standard Room: 2 people minimum, maximum depends on the room

Premium Room: 2 people minimum, maximum depends on the room

Deluxe Room: 4 people minimum, 10 people maximum

If you would like to be the only ones in the room you should book all the slots in the room. Strangers can and sometimes do book with you if there is an opening.

Do you give hints?

One hint is given at the beginning. The best way to escape is by communicating openly with everyone else in the room. Share clues you’ve discovered. Work together to solve puzzles. If you discover new information, be sure all your teammates in the room know about it. More hints will be given if you ask for them. (number of hints depend on the room. You will be told how many hints you are allowed before entering the room)

Do you tell us the rules before we go in?

Yes. Our staff will review the rules of the game with you before you begin, which include but are not limited to:

  • There is no need to lift or move heavy objects.
  • Never use force to try to open locked items.
  • No climbing on furniture.
  • Cell phones and other electronic devices must remain off and can not be used inside the room.

What is the Loyalty Program, how does it work?

You receive a card that you accumulate stamps on for each visit. Once all 5 spaces are stamped you can use it as a free pass. You can only use one free pass per group per booking (must book though us for this free pass). You must pay full price to receive a stamp, no stamps will be given for anyone using any kind of discount. This includes but is not limited to: free passes, coupons and BOGO.

Are we really locked inside the room and are restrained?

NO! You are not locked in the rooms. You may exit anytime you wish, or step out of the game to take a break. Your experience will not be paused during this time.

Can children participate?

Absolutely. However, keep in mind that the games are designed for adults and some younger children might find it difficult, so encourage you to work as a team. Recommended for children ages 14/15 and up. All participants 7 and up must have a ticket. Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult.

Is this something scary?

Not at all. The games are designed to be challenging and fun.
None of our games have total darkness, or things jumping out to startle or scare you. Some rooms may have limited lighting to enhance the experience. Please ask our staff if you are curious about the lighting in a specific room.

Can I RESCHEDULE OR cancel my room after booking?

Yes! Please contact a member of our staff to reschedule your booking. You must cancel prior to 48 hours of your booking time and you will receive a full refund. (if you only need a partial refund please contact a member of our staff) Less than 48 hours notice there is NO refund given.

I have more than one pass, can i use them all for one room experience?

No sorry our passes have super fine print that says you can only use one pass per experience. The only exception is if you have a group pass, a special pass called a single pass or gift certificate. If you are unsure please talk to a member of our staff.

Can I use more than one promotion together for one experience?

Sorry we do not combine promotions. If you have a gift certificate that can be combined. Free passes and discounts can not be used together. This list is not all inclusive there might be promotions in the future that we add or remove from the list.

Are the rooms wheelchair friendly?

Yes, all of our rooms can be played from a wheelchair. You can always contact a member of our staff if you have any questions.

Will other people be in the room with us?

No. All experiences are a private event. If you have booked and need to add to your booking contact a member of our staff.

Where are you located?

We are located at 6225 District Blvd Suite 103. We are just East of Ashe on District, behind Stockdale Tile and across from Paladins Game Castle.

Can we book a room outside of your normal hours?

Yes you can! If you would like a private booking please email or Facebook us. You can also call, but we won’t get the message until business hours.

do you offer group rates?

Yes we do. Please call, email or Facebook us for more info.

do You Accept Groupon?

No, we no longer accept Groupon.

What if I have an expired groupon?

If you have an expired Groupon contact a member of our staff. We can credit you what you spent on the Groupon but rules do apply. A manager must approve all requests.
